Tai Shu Keok / Big Tree Foot / 大树脚

Well.. Ipoh is famous for one place called Big Tree for the yeong tau fu. The price is reasonably cheap compared to other states or town and they got a a large variety of food. About 50 cent only per item. :)

Some of the yeong tau fu we ordered that day:

Curry Noodle:

Close around 4.30pm everyday

Kayu Nasi Kandar

For nasi kandar lover, there is a famous shop in Penang called Kayu Nasi Kandar. The taste is nice but the price is slightly higher compared to other shop. I think its because the chef is hired from India. Its a 24 hours shop and this shop is really really packed with people.

Nasi Briyani, Lamb, Sotong and Honey chicken (RM16.00)

Nasi Briyani emits a nice fragrance and rich is herbs n spices
Lamb is cooked just nice while sealing the taste inside
Sotong I think overcooked, it lost the chewiness already
Honey chicken is marinated and dipped with sauces again before eat. :)

For curry lovers they got a variety of it.

A large variety of dishes

Humble Beginnings's Cake

This cake is nice. haha..
I am actually carving for this cake when I'm writing this post. :P
The different between this cake and normal cake is it contain lots of layer. In simple comparison to people who ate popiah before you may imagine a thin layer of popiah skin then followed by a layer of cream then another layer of skin and followed by cream and etc. When you bite you can taste the texture of biting different layers. Yum Yum..

The Box

Oreo's Cookies 'n' Cream and French Vanilla

Oreo's Cookies 'n' Cream and French Vanilla

They got a large variety of creation with different toppings. I feel like publishing here but there are too many creation already. We need to place our order online instead of purchasing it from the shop but this ensure the freshness and the quality of the cake. Quite a nice thing to do :)

Penang Laksa

Well.. Penang is famous for its laksa. So here it goes..
The difference between Ipoh's (Penang's Laksa) and Real Penang Laksa is the in the soup. No matter how Ipoh immitate they'll still lose out. Why? Because of the soup. In Penang, the people use lots of fish and other ingredient to boil the soup. This makes the flavour rich but Ipoh's Laksa still lacking of ingredient (No offense)

Penang Laksa with Ha Kou (Prawn Gravy)
The gravy is used to enhance the soup flavour and increase the fragrant.
The soup contains lots of fish (Sardin?), lemon grass, pineapple, etc. :)

This shop is situated near sunshine square.

There are two entrance and the shop is facing this entrance

Here comes the map

Shifting to Penang
